How Jesus was Radically Led by the Holy Spirit (Lesson 1)

Image
LESSON 1 Radical and Supernatural 1. First, you must understand that the Holy Spirit leads in no other way but radical. You cannot be Spirit-led and remain in the traditions of religious men or remain tame and harmless. Oxford dictionary says a radical person is  "a person who advocates thorough or complete political or social reform, supporting an extreme or progressive ideology or intellectual persuasion." Is your ministry accompanied by signs and wonders? Worship Preaching Evangelism Discipleship Community service Spiritually, being radical is the advocacy for an entire transformation in Christ which is as extreme and progressive as what Jesus taught and revealed in Scripture. This transformation is supernatural. HOW RADICAL SHOULD WE BE, EXACTLY?  Simple. We must have Jesus&#

Radically Led by the Holy Spirit: INTRO

Image
AN INTRODUCTION The real tragedy in church today is that almost no one knows how to be genuinely led by the Holy Spirit. We're just fond of using the term, or claiming we're led by God, to probably justify what we do in church and get rid of guilt, but what we do today is a far cry from what Jesus and the apostles did. We look and sound more like a corporate bank than a Jesus ministry. Yet we claim to be led. So, I thought of doing a short series on being radically led by the Holy Spirit. I hope people serious about Jesus would see these series of articles, especially by those left behind after the rapture.  Photo by Ksenia Kudelkina on Unsplash . What They Think It Is Attending church faithfully Listening to sermons Choir or worship team member Formal look Voice quality Lively singing Emotional prayer or worship As long as you pray and read the bible Try asking long-time church members how they're sure they're led by the Holy Spirit. Chances are, they'd refer back

Disorganizing Churches is Among God's Pivotal Next

Image
You're shocked, right? God "disorganizing" churches. It shocked me, too, when I saw the first time how the modern church had become a far, far cry from how the church looked in the bible--the church Jesus said he'd build. Modern church looks more corporate than being God's family of believers. In fact, sometimes more corporate than the corporate world (worldlier than the world). It's become too organized, and worldly at that.  Photo by Peter Herrmann on Unsplash . What Church is to God Organization is good as long as it's the kind God introduced in the bible--which is familial, or how God runs his family. In the Gospel, Jesus introduced Kingdom "organization," for lack of a better term. There's the discipler and his disciples, the brethren. This is the basic unit. Then it grows. All brothers and sisters. A family. A body. A household. As simple as that. "Organization" starts from there and evolves as the Holy Spirit gives it growth

How "Church" Takes Us Away From Our First Love

Image
We can't get to the second step if we missed the first. Back to our first love. We have drifted so far away without noticing it. Our wrong priorities have enticed us so much and brought us to things we thought were God's next but weren't. Instead, our wrong direction brought us nearer mystery Babylon than the Kingdom of God without realizing it. And we think we're on the right track. This is why Jesus warned us about being deceived in the last days. Yup, we really think we are on the right track. Photo by Kristine Weilert on Unsplash . In many ways, we're all like the church in Ephesus (I mean we, the church, in general). We work so hard in ministry and persevere. We go on planting more churches and never giving up no matter the cost. We're equipped with our denominational doctrines and theologies and earn as many titles and degrees on them. We're not easy to fool or be persuaded to another religion. We attack sin and ungodliness. We never tire of our usual

Smyrna and Philadelphia Churches in the Last Days

Image
Among God's Next moves in these end-times is spotlighting the poor in spirit and the least is the greatest,  which are powerful apostolic teachings of Jesus in the Gospel. God is now raising up Smyrna and Philadelphia churches in our midst, and even within churches, like how he built a nation within the nation of Egypt in Moses' time. In our time when anything that is big, peopled and moneyed is worshipped everywhere, God reinstates the meek and lowly to demolish the strong and wise of this world.  Photo by Beth Macdonald on Unsplash . In Revelations 2 and 3, Jesus says this of Smyrna church: I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich!  Of the church in Philadelphia he says: I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. But to the rest of the churches---the active, rich and impressive-looking---Jesus sternly warned to "repent." They were far from being what God wanted them to be and doing what God wanted

Like GOD

Image
Be like God (imitate Him) because you are His loved children. [Ephesians 5] We feel more comfortable with Christ-likeness than seriously being like God. Being like God sounds like what Lucifer had in mind in Isaiah 14--occupying God's throne. But genuine Christ-likeness is really being like God in the most serious manner. Drink this slowly deep in your spirit--be  like God . Drink it. Swallow it. Digest it to become part of you. You cannot remain thinking or living like a mere human being and still be like God. Of course, you are NOT God, but definitely you're neither just human now that you have become God's child through Christ. Photo by Courtney Cook on Unsplash . God's Children Lucifer was different. He wanted to be "like God" in his own strength and effort. He wanted to surpass God. "I will raise my throne above the stars of God." It was plain rebelliousness. And anyway, being like God is exclusively for humans with Jesus living in them, not f
