We're Only Humans

Humans in Christ

A god that is human. Because God is our Father and we are children of God, we are given god status, as it were, to be distinguished from mere plain humans who have nothing in God. Click here to see post. We are born again or born from above (born from God) which is something not to be taken lightly for its tremendous potentials and latent power. We are not gods, in the sense of being pagan idols, but children of God given god status.

But we are not to go out publicly and declare to everyone that we are gods. This is something to be pondered within ourselves. Publicly, we show we're only humans, but not like ordinary folks who do not understand God's spiritual realms. To natural man, this is all nonsense. But we take this seriously in our inner man and live out its inherent and concomitant character principles in our lives and relationships daily.

The more we live out the human character principles of Christ (being truly human in Christ), the more we're proven to be true sons and daughters of God---and the more our god status is boosted.

We're like the man Jesus (Jesus being perfect God and perfect man simultaneously). We live out his character---meek, lowly, simple, not self-seeking, not self-centered, uncompromising, broad-minded, compassionate yet fierce, loving yet hating sin and wickedness. Yes, even hating sinners who refuse to repent and yet forgiving them even if they are not repentant.

Jesus asked the Father at the cross to "forgive them for they know not what they do," even if those who rejected and crucified him were far from being repentant. So, why the forgiveness? Did the Father forgive them? No. But Jesus uttered this to demonstrate how we should love our enemies and do good to those who hate us. It is more of showing the Father how Jesus understood them and had compassion for them than really asking the Father's forgiveness for them.

And we should have the same heart for those who treat us as enemies or as garbage. If we say we're only humans in Christ, then we should act and live like the man Jesus Christ, not like humans of this world. Yes, we're only humans---but saved humans, saved saints, radically transformed human citizens of heaven, humans who have Jesus living in them 100 percent. We're mere men but the type who don't live anymore because it is Jesus who lives in us.

We are humans who never take refuge in the excuse that we're only humans.

Our "weakness" as humans is not the kind that renders us powerless against temptation and sin. Or the kind that keeps us rotten in character, remaining carnal. Rather, it is what makes us unable to do anything for God unless Jesus in us does it through the power of the Holy Spirit. That weakness is what actually makes us strong. It is weakness God uses to perfect his power in us. It is all by grace.

Humans in Christ understand what grace really is---it is power that makes us say NO to ungodliness (not being like God) and worldly passions, enabling us to live LIKE GOD today, says Titus 2.12. But humans of this world use grace as a license to sin, thinking they can sin willingly, safely and continuously yet still be assured of heaven.

Humans turned God's children and given god status in Christ. The real exciting part is that the more we are meeker humans, the more our god status is boosted in the spirit realms so that what devils and demons see is Jesus in us, not us. The same with creation and nature, so they obey our every beck and call.

Yes, we are mere humans.
