GOD's Next Move

Born-again believers criticize idols, images or statues in Catholic churches, not realizing there are some among them guilty of idolatry, too. They worship their church buildings and denominations, for instance, which have become idols in their hearts. Others worship seminaries or human theology, substituting the Holy Spirit with these things, unable to understand or interpret Scriptures unless aided by them. They desperately earn titles and degrees, licenses to prove themselves legit handlers of God's Word.

But Jesus clearly said all you need is the supernatural mentorship of the Holy Spirit and Jesus' discipleship which is also guided by the Holy Spirit. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. Jesus did not endorse putting up bible schools or seminaries or getting titles and degrees. Or interpreting Scriptures in man's systematic ways or his theologies. Neither did the apostles. But what's sure and powerful is that:
"The Holy Spirit...will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." [John 14.26]
The Statue

Denominations claim they all belong to the body of Christ but hold to doctrines that differ from each other. Strange because the parts of the body, though varied, cannot have different beliefs or mindsets, especially doctrines that war against each other, because the body has only one Head. The "body" they claim they belong to is probably NOT the body of Christ. It's probably a statue, something like what's in Daniel's book in the bible. Nebuchadnezzar saw a body in his dream but it's that of a statue. In his dream he saw a statue of different materials--the head was gold, chest and arms of silver, stomach and hips of bronze, legs of iron and feet a mix of clay and iron [Daniel 2].

Gold and Silver

Nebuchadnezzar's empire was gold. Supreme. But others after it were silver, poor substitutes to gold but nonetheless powerful. In my imagination, I likened dream to the church. Church started as "gold," especially in the time of Acts. Later, denominations popped up and built empires inferior to gold, which were "silver" churches. They were the chest and arms of the statue, looking as though they had a heart (chest) to do good works (arms) for God. But remember, it's a statue, not a real body. And statues cannot really do anything except stay idle, though they are very useful to man's religions. Statues strengthen idolatrous faiths. In this sense, it looks "productive."

Bronze

After the silver empires came the bronze empires. These "stomach and hip" empires looked like gold but they were far from being gold. They were poor copies--second rate, trying hard, copy-cats. They became greedier as they tried to emulate the gold empires they admired. Like Lucifer desiring to go past God's status. Again, in my imagination, I'm reminded of the type of churches that came later, trying to imitate the Acts church--and were a bit successful for a while--but succumbed to the pressures of denominationalism nonetheless. They ended up just forming new denominations, amassing more properties and material possessions they could to get a semblance of being gold.

In the Jerusalem temple, gold was used for things inside the temple and the Holy of Holies, things only the high priest and priests were allowed to see. But outside, bronze was used because outsiders were allowed to see only a semblance of the real thing, not the real thing itself. They wouldn't stand seeing naked truth. They might even steal the gold and sell it.

This is why even church people today prefer a semblance or copy of what is in heaven, not heaven itself. Jesus has entered through the curtain and into the real sanctuary not made by man and is there for all times to help us experience real worship in heaven. But many still cannot take this. They think it is either cultic or outmoded. And the few that do see and experience God's gold in the temple are tempted to sell and get rich with it.

So God decided that bronze was good enough for them. Because many today, though calling themselves "worshipers," are easily tempted by gold. They'd take it and sell it. Often, you think a churchy person is so spiritual or a real man of God until he gets exposed to God's gold. God's gold can strip away all religious vinyl. God uses it to test the heart.

But some in church are not satisfied with bronze worship. They crave for the real thing, the worship in heaven, no less. And they seek out the glorious church without spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. They're tired of men's churches. They want to experience God's gold. They will, in these last days.

Iron

Next type of world empires that Nebuchadnezzar saw were the iron empires--empires with strong legs, unyielding and unmoved by any wind of change. The same thing with "iron-legged" churches, they hold fast to their traditions and denominations no matter what. They hate real change, the kind that the Holy Spirit brings. Yes, they're more active and aggressive, feeling the urgent need to reach out to lost people and go out for mission works. But they miss something vital.

Because they're like legs of iron, they lacked the easy mobility to flow with God's present moves--the ready obedience to the radical moves of the Holy Spirit--and couldn't do so much to really obey God's Word and strange work because iron is too sturdy and unrelenting. These churches stuck to their denominational doctrines instead of bringing the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ to people. In stubbornness they brought their own denominational "gospel." This is what they call "missions" up to this day.

Iron and Clay

Last is the feet made of iron and clay. Here's what Daniel said about the feet:
41 You also saw the feet and toes. They were partly potters’ clay and partly iron. This means that there will be a divided kingdom which has some of the firmness of iron. As you saw, iron was mixed with clay. 42 The toes were partly iron and partly clay. Part of the kingdom will be strong, and part will be brittle. 43 As you saw, iron was mixed with clay. So the two parts of the kingdom will mix by intermarrying, but they will not hold together any more than iron can mix with clay.
A divided kingdom. That's what we see in world affairs today. Every nation is divided against itself, though their governments are adamant about their policies. Stubbornly corrupt, too. Sadly, they can never be united as one nation. Every issue easily divides them.

The same with divisions among church denominations today. They are feet of iron and clay, the type prevalent in these end-times. Well, they've always been divided since denominations started, but not like today when feet churches are desperately grabbing people into their membership, even going overseas to do it. And they will be more and more hardheaded like iron but also brittle as clay, which explains church divisions and splits happening left and right. One slight difference and they form new denominations. They easily get hurt and affected because of brittleness. In short, immature and carnal, moved by the flesh. Political issues easily separates Christians.

But don't take me wrong. They look more active than other church types because they are the feet. If your feet were cut off and all you had were legs, you could still move around, but not fast enough. But with your feet intact, you run in all directions. These are super active churches and race each other like mad to plant churches everywhere to get a bigger share of the pie, because the bigger market captured, the bigger the profits. The more they can expand.

They will be stubborn as iron and impatiently do things in a hurry without waiting for the Lord's instructions. So what they produce are brittle results--always so susceptible to breaks, divisions and splits. And too undercooked or half-baked as to be so immature and carnal. They may be big congregations but childish (brittle), not childlike, when it comes to knowing the King and His Kingdom protocols. All they know is their denominational manuals and protocols and other religious bible lessons of men.

Rock Cut Out from a Mountain

Then, in these end-times, a powerful move of God will happen. It's what I call the last great church revival done by God. The Rock--who is JESUS--cut or derived from the Father Himself, will appear and establish his Kingdom through his glorious church that "can never be destroyed." No human hands, human rule or human effort will be allowed in this Kingdom. It is purely God's move through believers who have Christ living in them 100 percent. It will be established forever.
44 “At the time of those kings, the God of heaven will establish a kingdom that will never be destroyed. No other people will be permitted to rule it. It will smash all the other kingdoms and put an end to them. But it will be established forever. 45 This is the stone that you saw cut out from a mountain, but not by humans. It smashed the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold. The great God has told you what will happen in the future, Your Majesty. The dream is true, and you can trust that this is its meaning.”
And what will it do? It will not revive the previous types of churches. Instead, it will "smash: or DESTROY them all. Jesus said,
"Every plant that my Father has not planted will be pulled out by the roots," [Matthew 15.13].
Then the Rock will become a large mountain filling up the whole world with the glory of God. However, as it is, men's churches have been trying to fill the world with their statues. But God will soon change all that. Are you ready to join HIM?
