All is Christ

Not many catch it in the bible. They've probably read past it a thousand times already but the thought never caught their attention. It never exploded in front of them, unlike how it did in front of me about 10 years ago---All is Christ. Yup, all is Christ, said Paul to the Colossians. In a way, we are all Christ. Got you nervous now?

A lot of God's truths can make you nervous, if only you look more closely and take them more seriously. Problem is, most Christians and pastors read the bible just for doctrinal purposes. Worse, they read it to debate over their denominational differences, to prove who's more biblical or intellectual.

We're the body of Christ on earth. If, say, someone's body is dismembered and pieces of it are found (and, say, the guy's name is Tom), we'd say that this dismembered hand is Tom's and this dismembered toe is Tom's and this dismembered eye is Tom's. And so forth. It's something like that, too, in the body of Christ. All the members, no matter the size or shape, is Jesus'. So, all is Christ's. Because Christ is all.

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. [Col. 3.11]

In Christ we lose our racial identity. I used to say I was like this or that because I was Filipino or Tagalog or Ilocano. Not anymore. You can't say you do or can't do this or that because you are American, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and so on. We lose all that in Christ. And not just that. In fact, we lose our whole selves and become joined entirely to Christ---his identity, body, DNA, thinking, mindset, culture, place in heaven---in fact we sit with him on his Throne in heaven when he sits there. Only one person can sit on a throne, but when Jesus sits on his Throne, we sit on it together with him because we are in him and perfectly one with him---Christ is all and is in all. You reverse that and it's still true---All is Christ and all is in Christ.

That's why we cannot also have separate church denominations and have different sets of beliefs and doctrines and systems of governance from each other and act and behave differently from or toward each other. Christ cannot be divided, as Paul said. Christ is all and is in all. Churches and their brilliant leaders and theologians through the years have never grasped, and still don't grasp, this. They still insist on their denominations.

Jesus' prayer in John 17 is that we all may be completely or perfectly one just as the Father and Son are one. I've been insisting on this for more than 20 years or so now! We have to take Jesus' prayer seriously. We have to give up all forms of separation or schisms or divisions and be one with each other and be one with Christ, as we are in Christ and Christ is in us and in the Father. The church must be one flesh with the Lord. When we finally are, then the world will know what God has been up to in Christ---giving us the same love He is giving Jesus. As it is, the world doesn't pay attention to us. It thinks we're all just another religion.

I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. [Jn.17]

Now, when I say all is Christ (because the bible says Christ is all and is in all), I'm not saying we can become the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We cannot. Only Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son. What I'm saying is, all is Christ because the bible says Christ is all. As simple as that. We have to realize the power in the truth that Christ is in us, in our bodies, 100 percent.

We cannot be partly us and partly Him. He cannot be 70 or 80 or 90 or even 99.99 percent in us and the remaining percent we fill in with our self. Nope, you no longer live but Christ lives in you, said Paul. That means zero percent you and 100 percent Jesus. Anyone in Christ is a new creation. The you is past, Jesus is now in you. And that happens to all genuine born again Christians. So, all is Christ because Christ is all and in all.
